Secretary
Jinny St. Goar
Jinny St. Goar has served on the board of joy2learn since 2009, having supported the organization’s mission for the decade preceding. As a journalist for more than 30 years, she wrote primarily about finance and economics, with occasional forays into the arts, for numerous publications. St. Goar started her professional life with a brief stint as a speech-writer for a politician, wrote about arts, local politics and business in Seattle, and spent most of her career writing for the business press: Forbes, The Economist Intelligence Unit, Institutional Investor, and other national publications.
A graduate of Harvard College, she’s been a member of the boards of other not-for-profits. She served on a community board in New York City, and started (and closed) an economic development non-profit that built and ran a school in rural Mali, W. Africa. Thanks to increased income from a micro-finance program, that community now supports and operates the school.
More recently she’s become a farmer, launching a commercial apple orchard in the Hudson Valley.
