Jose (Platao) Rocha is Managing Director of Host Broadcast Services, LLC (HBS), the host broadcast company behind great events like the FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup, Roland Garros, and others. HBS, LLC is based in Miami, Florida. 

Before that,  Jose was general manager of DirecTV Sports and vice president of Content Development for DirecTV Latin America, based in New York, where he lead DIRECTV Latin America’s original content production and managed the company’s broad sports programming offering in the region.

Rocha has more than 30 years of experience in Television. He holds a journalism degree from Universidad Federal de Rio de Janeiro, a Master of Business Administration from the joint Vanderbilt University and University of Sao Paulo program, and a specialization in Digital Marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Growing up in Brazil, Jose developed his passion for the importance of arts and creativity in learning. Before joining joy2learn’s board, he served as board chair of GetLit, an organization devoted to increasing literacy in California through classic poetry.
